This is a custom garter set that I made for a wedding. The with garter has two purple handmade roses with button centers and feathers. The smaller purple garter was made for to throw at the wedding. It has one rose and feathers. The bag is customized with the initial of the couple's last name, their names and wedding date. The inside of the bag is purple to match the wedding colors. The bride plans to save the garter and use it as a headband if they were ever to have a baby girl.

Nine Patch Shuffle
My neighbor and great friend is making over her sewing room. She has purchased shelving and a sewing table. The shelving is in the form of cubbies. It's dark brown/black and looks georgous against the carmel colored walls in the room. In the cubbies she has placed baskets lined with cute cloth that is bright and happy. I...... am jealous. :) I have a teeny tiny shelf in my sewing room and it has ugly green bins from the hardware store on it. I want baskets and I want them now. ha... I can't swing baskets right now (just bought 86 yards of quilt quality fabric)..... so off to my stash I go. This is the first basket and I'm going to make 8 more. It's all cloth with batting and interfacing for stability. This one will hold the necessary sewing room tools.... scissors, rotary cutter, etc.

Lyndsie's Baby Quilt
With the corner folded down to show the hanger is embroidered with the baby's name and birth year.
The denim blocks and denim border are raw edges. I've washed it to make them fray. I auditioned many fabrics for this quilt, but the gold/yellow just seemed to work so well with the denim. This would also be cute done with white denim and pink or blue fabrics, pink demin with bold florals, etc.
It measures approx. 40" x 40" with 9 appliqued animals. These appliques are so cute. There were 20 in the design pack and I had a hard time narrowing it down to just 9. :)
The back is one big block the same as the small blocks on the front.
Soft plaid cotton with polka dotted cotton border and sashing. Warm low loft cotton batting inside. High quality materials make it safe to wash a million times.
Each block of denim is machine appliqued with super snuggly minkie.
This quilt worked up so fast. If only I had two sewing machines I could embroider WHILE sewing the blocks together *wink*.

Fabric Stash
I follow several quilters blogs and it seems they are often trying to reduce the size of the stash of fabric that they have on hand. Stashing has always made me a bit nervous because, well, what if the fabric doesn't get used.
I bought new machines in April (Bernina 440QE and 1150 Serger... woot woot!) and decided to buy a cabinet for them rather than having to pack it all up and put it back in the closet. This has made a big difference in the amount of sewing I do so my stash has grown simply because of the amount of scraps and small pieces left over from projects.
I recently completed my first project with fabric and trims COMPLETELY from my stash. All of that was to say that I'm now okay with stashing and have actually made my first fabric purchase that is strictly for my stash. :) The hardware store where I buy fabric (small town) was having a 75% off sale of some of their fabrics so I bought 7 yards and I'm excited about looking for projects to fit the fabric I have on hand rather than fabric for the projects I'd like to do.

Definitely going to blog.
Okay.... having a hard time getting started with this thing. Here's the plan.... I need to take some pictures of things I've made and give some details about them. Ya... that's what I'll do.
